diary entry from mike
this is my first entry on the blog.
my internet has been playing up, but i am again winning the battle, i think, i hope.
i feel very enthused by the doodle draw project.
it seems to be developing very naturally and with each workshop myself and jonny do, i feel i am learning lots of different things, and becoming increasingly inspired and enthused about the potential of this project.
its basic point is that we think anyone can draw, it is fun and therepeutic and wish to break the stigma attached to drawing, and in doing so, reflect upon the fact that anyone can do anything they wish to if they practice and strive towards it.
to paraphrase mohammed ali very badly...
if you think you cannot do something
you say you cannot do it
if you say you cannot do it
you do not do it
if you do not do it
it does not become a habit
if it does not become a habit
you do not practice it
if you do not practice it
it does not become your destiny.
as with drawing, as with plumbing, as with anything.

Emporium drawing session 5th June 3pm to 5pm
We decided to put up paper on the outside of the Emporium that afternoon to see if passers by would stop and draw. Some did and we left the paper up overnight two nights until Monday morning. On Sunday afternoon more drawing had been done and then pens had been left hanging up on the paper . Monday they'd all gone. Maybe someone had got really into it and wanted to continue drawing back home.
