Hello we really like drawing. We're running four workshops a week for thirteen weeks in and around Stokes croft and St. PAuls. One for kids in St. pauls Tuesdays 6pm to 7.30pm in Full circle, one in the Big Issue Stokes Croft for vendors 2pm to 3.30pm also on Tuesdays, one on Saturdays 12 to 2pm for the general public and one for Somalians in Amana Educational Trust, Grosvenor Road St. PAuls every Monday from 11 am to 1pm . Our basic idea is to draw with people and encourage and facilitate their enjoyment and development of drawing. The project is funded by the Bristol Arts Council and we intend to make an exhibition of all work from four groups in mid September
Yesterday we had a really good drawing session with Ahmed, Amina , Muna and Hodan. We stuck cutout images from the National Geographic magazine onto a big bit of paper and began to make a giant collage. Ahmed made a beautiful mermaid and shark with floppy fins and Muna and Amina stuck and drew fish and bird flocks. This worked very well as having images from the magazine gives everyone images to work with and is very involved. So we are going to continue with the giant collage next week.
